When the opportunity presented itself in 2009, Julie Holt jumped at the chance to turn her long and much loved hobby of jewellery making into a career.  She is now a successful jewellery designer and tutor who specialises in working with silver, semi-precious gemstones and Swarovski crystals.

 Having initially started with bead stringing and weaving, her frustration at not being able to source the components she wanted for her designs led her to study chain maille, wirework and traditional silver smithing. 

After that Julie was hooked on working with silver and Precious Metal Clay was a natural progression that took the possibilities for her designs to another level.  She never ceases to be amazed with PMC and loves seeing people’s reactions when they watch a demonstration or create their first piece.

 Julie has been teaching jewellery making techniques since early 2009 and has recently opened her studio in Woking from which she offers various training courses, including PMC.  She is a certified PMC Artisan, having trained with the PMC Studio, and holds the CIPD certificate in Learning & Development.
